The second thing you need to know to Create Your Ideal Business is:

What are your natural gifts and talents?

I promise you that you already have natural gifts and talents!  Everyone does!

Sometimes it can be difficult to identify our natural gifts and talents because they come so easily to us that we don’t realize that they aren’t as easy for everyone.  They are natural for us and we don’t have to put a lot of effort into doing them well.

We often end up putting most of our time and effort in improving the things that don’t come naturally to us.  We notice things that other people do naturally well and think that we need to work really hard to improve those skills.

What if instead we put all of that focus and effort into improving our natural skills, those things that are easy and fun for us?

Imagine for a minute if Tiger Woods had decided to spend most of his time learning to become a better painter or writer instead of spending all of his time improving his golf skills. 

Do you think he would still be a good golfer?  Probably he would still be pretty good because that is his natural talent

Do you think he would still be a great golfer?  No, probably not.

We are not all meant to be famous athletes, musicians or actors, but we are all meant to have a big impact on the world with our natural gifts and talents.

So if you are not sure what your natural talents are, I would really encourage you to take some time and allow yourself to acknowledge your own unique talents and gifts.

  • What have you done in the past that has been the most successful or beneficial to others?
  • What do you already know about what you were made to do?
  • What’s been the most meaningful in your life?
  • What did you want to be when you grew up as a child?
  • What kind of things do the people who know you well come to you for help with?
  • If every experience in your life was planned to train you for your destiny, what would you say your whole life has prepared you to do?

As you contemplate these questions, how confident are you that you know what your natural talents and gifts are on a scale of 1 to 10?

  2. This is so important do do what we have natural talent for and enjoy. In my case my family came to me to start my cooking sight. Sometimes folks around you can help identify your gifts.
    Then of course this UBC has forced me to cook, cook, cook everyday, hone those skills and write those blog posts.
