The fifth thing that you need to know to Create Your Ideal Business is:

How do you like to communicate?

 In order to effectively reach your ideal customer/clients you need to be able to effectively communicate your message in your own voice. 

 Your true authentic voice should come through as you communicate your message.  It’s not about trying to impress people or putting on an act to persuade people to listen to you. 

 The best way to connect with people as you share your message is to communicate in the same way that you would if you were having a face to face conversation with a friend.  It’s ok to just be you!  You don’t have to be like anyone else.

 

Communicate in a way that feels natural and easy for you. 

Are you comfortable with video?  Is it easiest to just turn on the camera and let the words come?

Do you hate to see yourself on camera and feel a little camera shy?

Maybe you feel more comfortable just recording yourself speak on your smartphone and creating an MP3.

Is it easier for you to just write what you want to say?

Don’t let what other people are doing make you feel like there is a right way or wrong way for you to share your message. 

If it feels natural and easy for you, it is the right way for you. 

If it feels hard and challenging, and you would rather do anything than create it, it’s the wrong way for you.

 

Regardless of which format you choose to create your content, you can always convert that content to the other formats.

    Thanks for encouraging me to think about my communication style! I’m definitely a writer-type of communicator 🙂 I would much prefer sending an email than verbalizing my thoughts in person. Plus, I think the written word is permanent and easy to reference in case of confusion 🙂

    What’s your communication style – are you more comfortable with video, writing, telephone, ???

      Thanks Laurie! I was expecting most of the bloggers who comment on this post to prefer writing. For me my favorite style right now is recording MP3’s. When I am writing I end up spending too much time worrying about grammar and spelling which sometimes breaks my train of thought. while I have been getting more comfortable with video all the time, I don’t like that you have to worry about what you’re wearing and how you look when you do videos. I very rarely wear make-up or spend much time to do much with my hair. The easiest way for me to create content in a way that I know is true to my authentic voice is to make a voice recording. From that MP3 I can transcribe (or better yet have someone else transcribe it) to make a written document or create a screencast video.
