Be the CHANGE you want to SEE

change-1I have been doing some serious meditating on what I want to achieve in my business and how I plan to get there. I have some huge, scary goals. You know, the kind of goals that make your heart beat fast when you tell them to someone because there is that little voice in your head telling you that you don’t have any clue how you’re actually going to make it happen.

I love that feeling!

I think it means that you have identified a worthy goal.

Anyway, back to the point. I have found that I tend to have the most effective meditation sessions while I exercise. There is just something about exercising that helps me to turn off that part of my brain that worries about all of the things I have to do today.

I was running on the tread mill a few days ago and, out of nowhere, the thought “Be the CHANGE you want to SEE” jumps into my head.

I am not sure where it came from, but it was definitely what I needed to hear.

I realized that I had been allowing myself to focus on the things that I wish my Advisor had done to help me get started in my business. I received several emails from other people on my team that were talking about quitting because they felt they weren’t receiving the support they had been promised before joining.

When this phrase jumped into my head, I began to understand that instead of using those complaints as excuses for why I wasn’t growing as fast as I wanted to, I needed to find a way that I could be the solution and provide that support, not only for myself, but for the entire team.

We all have our strengths and weaknesses.

If we all work together each focusing on what we do well, then we can achieve even the scariest of goals!

After all, isn’t that what being an entrepreneur is all about? Finding a need and filling it!

  1. Hi Melissa,
    This is so true,
some of my ideas come to me at night when I am in bed, I always have a paper and pen handy to jot things down.

    • Jean,

It’s good you are able to capture those thoughts that come to you at night. For me personally, I have to try not to think while I am laying in bed. I have a tendency to think too much and then I can’t fall asleep.

  2. You can do it! You can do it! You can do it!

It is often incredibly scary the first time we realize that if we want to take the next step in our own development, we have to stop passing the buck. The call to leadership can be HARD! It requires us to dig deep within ourselves, stretch ourselves, and serve others. However, it is incredibly liberating to be able to move from a moment of fear into a place of freedom… from a place of excuses into a place of opportunities. That is such a fitting phrase! Keep on serving hun, so proud of ya!

    • Thanks for the comment Kimberly, and the words of encouragement! That is a great phrase, I am going to have to borrow that one. I know you will have many wonderful opportunities in your future.

  3. I have to agree with you on the timing of things and how they just “Pop” into your head. For me it often occurs in the shower…all of a sudden out of nowhere is this brilliant idea of what the next right thing to do is. It seems to happen most when our brain is relaxed. Be it exercise, before falling asleep or just waking up, or even in the shower. The next step is to act on it. I’m glad to hear you have and that you’re moving forward. Keep on the right path.

  4. Melissa,

Right on! I love the realization that you CAN go after even the scariest goals.

i believe in you and know you can achieve what you want when you set your mind to.

    Keep sharing the goodness.

  5. Thanks for the reminder that meditation, contemplation, and inspiration are not only the result of sitting, but can come from almost anything we do – if we just open our minds.

Also thanks for sharing your insight that support and solutions are sometimes one and the same.

So, are you going to tell us what your big, scary goals are, what you are going to focus on (doing well), and how we can help?

    • Hey Oren! Thanks for visiting my blog and for the great comments! I hadn’t thought about sharing my goals here, but I think you have a great idea! Look for my goals to be posted soon. I am hoping to get to know you better!

      Melissa
